Christopher Knowlton’s books include CATTLE KINGDOM, BUBBLE IN THE SUN and the forthcoming COILS OF THE ANACONDA. A former staff writer and London Bureau Chief for Fortune Magazine, he writes award-winning histories about the people, businesses, and forces that built—and sometime broke—America. He has also contributed book reviews to the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Earlier in his career, he spent fourteen years in the investment business, most of them as President of Knowlton Brothers, Inc. In recent years, he has chaired the Board of Trustees of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and Sea Center, and served as a board member of the Teton Raptor Center in Wilson, Wyoming and the Community Environmental Council on California’s Central Coast.
